    HIST  I did get the story on Asa’s girlfriend. He apparently carried on a relationship with Ruhamie Jane Oswalt and had three children with her. That detail came by way of Howard Hallman wd5djt@swbell.net (leaves in Texas) – his mother was cousin to one of the Oswalt kids and the story is common knowledge within the family. Apparently Ruhamie is buried in the same cemetery with Asa and Martha Ann.
