He with his family and some of his wife's sister and brother moved to Wise County Texas in late 1870's or early 1880. Nancy and some of her children moved to Wise County around this time. She married a third husband James M. Sailing 22 Aug 1897 in Wise County. She died near Decatur in Wise County and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery Decatur Texas. OBSERVE DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs W. J. (Billy) Newman, Rt 4, Galax, who celebrated their Diamond (60th) Wedding anniversary at their home on Sunday December 21st. Mr. and Mrs. Newman are the parents of seven sons and daughters as follows:
Mrs. Robert S. Dillon, Mrs. H. Clinton Carico, Lester Newman, Charles Newman, Ellis Newman and Everett Newman, all of whom reside in or near Galax, and Lawrence Newman, Vero Beach. Fla. They also have 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
(Note: William J Newman and Sarah L. Lineberry were married in Carroll County Virginia on 22 Dec 1887. He was the son of John A. and Sarah Newman. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mahala Lineberry.)
